Note* Steam in contact with glass is erosive
The CLAM bronze Sight Glass / Flow Indicator is suitable for use following steam traps and in similar applications.
When sight glasses are fitted with steam traps they should be installed on the downstream side of the trap.
NOTE* We recommend that where sight glasses and flow indicators are used in steam and condensate return lines, they be limited to a maximum working pressure of 700kpa ( 100psi ) and that periodic inspections be carried out at least every six months to discern the degree to which any erosion to the glass has occurred.
